Her sketch book was filled with beautiful paintings and drawings. Such bright, vibrant colors that seemed to jump out of the page; this young girl was clearly talented. She was asleep in her bed that was on the opposite side of her desk in her bedroom. I set the sketch book down and crept toward her as I didn't want to wake her. Jessica. That was her name. I extended a tentacle and touched her forehead. I sent nightmares into her pleasant dreams. It was always more fun when the victim panicked. One technique I had learned since the transformation was the ability to teleport. I vanished out of her room and outside the bedroom window. She jumped up and screamed with her hands on her head; she was obviously terrified. I tapped on the window, which startled her and she came over to open it up and look outside. Rookie mistake, I thought. She opened it and a tentacle shot out and wrapped around her mouth before she could scream. I pulled her out of her room and held her up towards the sky. The moonlight really illuminated her in a way that highlighted her fear. I flung her to the ground and retracted my tentacle.

"Leave now," I said in a low voice. She nodded and got up. She started to scream for help. I could not allow this. "Silence!" I wrapped a tentacle around her neck, choking her, and started to absorb her aura. It was stronger than I thought. Oh how delicious it was. I savored every second of it. Her physical form started to get sucked into my tentacle and soon all that was left were her clothes. "Excellent," I whispered.

Adults and children ran out of their homes hoping to see who was screaming. I vanished over to the woods and growled. I was hoping to avoid doing this but they left me no choice. I spread my palms out towards the neighborhood. The houses and yards burst into flames. Adults gathered and tried putting out the flames. They ushered their kids to run to the front of the neighborhood and stand in the concrete cult de sac. Though I had just feasted, an opportunity to get this many children at once hardly ever appeared. I teleported to the edge of the cult de sac and approached the children.

"Kids," I said in a friendly voice. "Your parents sent me to gather all of you up and take you to safety. Their fear stricken faces nodded and followed me into the woods. I would've smiled if I had a mouth. How easily kids could be manipulated dumbfounded me. Although I was once a naïve human too; surely I was never this dumb? They all gathered around me as I stopped along the trail.

"I'm about to show you something amazing, alright? And no matter what don't be afraid because I'm here to protect you okay?" They nodded and my tentacles emerged from my backside. They flickered and wrapped around all of their mouths so they couldn't scream for help. "Such powerful auras you all have," I said as I finished absorbing them. Their clothes littered the forest floor and I followed the trail out of the woods.

"I sense no worthy auras from the adults trying to put out the flame," I said to myself. I looked back at the forest and raised a palm towards it. "Bon voyage to the afterlife, my good friends." I set the entire forest aflame and the fires washed over the neighborhood of Brennen Woods like a tidal wave. Adults screamed and called out for their kids and I chuckled. My past life had done something just like this in the 80's where he absorbed many children and set the place on fire.

One thing I still wasn't used to as the Slender Man was having all of these thoughts and memories from past Slender Man. The one that I killed and replaced was one that, like me, was new to being a Slender Man. My older thoughts from past lives though, they were ancient beings but there was one thing none of them knew; where did Slender Folk come from? Were we made or did we evolve? Are we aliens? I wanted to know just as much as they did but there was no way to find out.

We Slender Folk feed on Aura, which are usually only found on children. As they get older, most lose their Aura while some retain it. Aura is the manifested energy that stems from creativity, happiness, and just a unique view of life. Those who retain their Aura are usually artists, writers, and musicians. The more talent they have, the better their Aura.

I vanished from the burning neighborhood and reappeared in the suburbs of ST Louis. I immediately detected a strong Aura coming from one of the houses. As it was still nighttime, I crept along the edges of the light shining from the lampposts. I stopped at one of the houses and looked into a bedroom window. There was a teenager, possibly 15 or 16, lying in bed playing a game on her laptop. Her Aura was so bright and strong I nearly lost control. I knew from the second that I saw her that I wanted to absorb her. But no! Absorbing her right here in one full serving isn't good enough! I must give her Slender Sickness and have her run in fear and be paranoid every time she left her house. Yes it would be a hunt unlike any other. And in the end I wouldn't just get her Aura. I would get the Aura of hundreds of children. For she was my key to getting them; I grinned.
the plot thickens at least I think so lol. it was kinda fun writing this; pretending to be Slender Man. NOTE: I DO NOT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM CLAIM TO BE SLENDY! PLEASE DONT TROLL ME!!

anywho, the third part of the short story trilogy will be quite dramatic. Lots of people will die, four new characters will be introduced. two of them will be epic, two of them you will hope die soon and the origin of SLENDY IS REVEALED!
